Eerie evening light during tennis last night, then it pissed down raining. This morning, the river was over the bridge at Hereford Street. There was an old chest freezer teetering over the side of the bridge. This is a story that is going round: the flooding was so bad at Molong that a horse drowned and its body came floating down the main street and crashed into the window of a cafe. At tennis, while we waited for the rain to clear, there were jokes about horseburgers. There’s no sign of the dead Molong horse in the news – could be a quick urban myth.
